Why I built Art Goat
Artists spend too much time sorting through calls that do not fit their work, location, budget, or stage of practice. I co-founded Art Goat to make that search more useful through free personalized matching and clearer opportunity information.
02
My role reviewing and structuring opportunities
I help review how artist opportunities are collected, structured, and presented, including funding, fees, eligibility, deadlines, geography, support, and application requirements.
03
How Art Goat’s data informs the Journal
Art Goat’s opportunity catalog gives the Journal a growing body of evidence about how programs are designed. We use it to examine patterns while keeping dates, missing information, methods, and limitations visible.
04
Scientific background and editorial approach
I am a painter and also happen to be a PhD Neuroscientist. My scientific background taught me to separate observation from assumption and to show how a conclusion was reached. The Journal follows that habit through primary sources, transparent methods, careful language, and corrections when the evidence changes.
