Housing: Private bedroom with private en-suite bath, linens, laundry access and three prepared meals per day
  • Who Can Apply: Emerging and established artists across writing, visual arts, performance, film/video, music composition and cross-disciplinary practice; enrolled undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students may apply, but pure academic-scholarship projects are not accepted; returning Mt. San Angelo Fellows must wait two years
  • The Focus: Peer-reviewed residencies providing focused time for individual creative work in a multidisciplinary artist community
  • Cost: $30 application fee (waivers available). The residency costs $240 per day; accepted artists are asked to contribute at least $105 per day, with need-based reductions and fully funded fellowships available
  • Key Requirements: SlideRoom application with current work samples, project description and biographical/logistical information; recommendation letters are not required; fee-waiver requests should be made at least five days before the deadline

Application notesApply through SlideRoom by September 15, 2026 for residencies scheduled May–August 2027. Requirements include the application form, current work samples, project description and $30 non-refundable fee; recommendation letters are not required. Fee waivers are available when requested at least five days before the deadline. Returning Mt. San Angelo Fellows must wait two years before another residency. Students are eligible, but pure academic-scholarship projects are not. Artists arrange and pay for transportation to and from VCCA.
