Travel coveredHousing: Private furnished studios with lodging accommodations; extra-long twin bed, pillows, sheets, blankets, bath towels, closets; personal bathroom with sink and lavatory; shared kitchen, dining room, living room; laundry room with washer/dryer; weekly cleaning service
  • Who Can Apply: Artists and writers based in Texas, elsewhere in the United States, or internationally; alumni may not reapply
  • The Focus: Two-month, self-directed studio residencies for concentrated visual-art or writing practice in historic downtown Corsicana
  • The Funding: Private furnished studio and lodging, professional documentation, equipment access, staff support, public programming, and scheduled Dallas/Fort Worth airport transfers are funded. Applicants pay $30; accepted residents pay a $200 administration fee and cover travel, meals, materials, and research.
  • Key Requirements: Artists submit 5 work samples; writers submit 2 samples of up to 2,000 words each; list two references, with no recommendation letters required

Application notes2027 terms are January 4–February 23, March 1–April 27, and October 11–December 7. Ceramic, fiberglass, and aerosol work cannot be accommodated; sound, performance, and composition applicants should inquire before applying. Families and pets are not accommodated, and the building is accessible only by steep stairs without an elevator.
