  • Who Can Apply: Graduate and upper-division undergraduate students at Oregon State University with a minimum GPA of 3.0; must be enrolled at OSU throughout the fellowship year.
  • The Focus: Interdisciplinary creative and journalistic projects at the intersection of art/humanities with science or engineering, developed through mentorship and research engagement.
  • The Funding: $1,000 fellowship award; optional retreat at PLAYA in Summer Lake, Oregon.
  • Key Requirements: Complete Submittable application form with answers to track-specific questions; provide a nomination letter from a faculty member; upload or link additional materials requested by your chosen fellowship track; identify mentors (at least one must be OSU-affiliated).

Application notesApplication window opens October 30, 2026. Applicants notified of status by end of winter term (by March 12, 2027). Orientation in spring term of current academic year is mandatory. Monthly meetings with mentors required (in-person or virtual). Work plan due at beginning of fall term; progress report due in winter term. Must attend program meetings and events September through June. Must be actively engaged with science or engineering research on campus. Collaboration with other fellows required for public event/exhibition in spring 2026, public document creation, and feedback guide development.
