Monson Arts Residency (Spring 2027)
Housing: Private bedroom in a fully furnished shared house in Monson (1–2 other residents), linens and towels providedCollectives eligible
- Who Can Apply: Visual artists and writers at any career stage, from the US or abroad (non-US applicants need a working knowledge of English). Applicants must not be currently enrolled in a BFA or MFA program. Collaborative teams apply together.
- The Focus: Dedicated time and space for creative work in a cohort of 5 visual artists and 5 writers, immersed in small-town life at the edge of Maine's North Woods.
- The Funding: The artist receives a $500 stipend for a 4-week residency ($250 for 2 weeks), plus a private studio, a private bedroom in shared housing and all meals. Travel is not reimbursed.
- Key Requirements: Apply on SlideRoom between December 1, 2026 and January 15, 2027 (11:59pm Eastern) with up to 5 images / 5 minutes of media or 5 pages of writing, a letter of intent (3,000 characters), a CV or resume (6,000 characters) and two reference names. An application fee applies; email info@monsonarts.org at least 5 days before the deadline to ask for a waiver.

Collaborative teams submit one application, and each member receives the stipend and a private studio. Travel is not reimbursed. Past residents may reapply 1 year after attending.
