Yaddo Residency (Winter 2026 Application Cycle)
Housing: Room and board at Yaddo, plus a studioFull-time commitment
- Who Can Apply: Professional and promising emerging creative artists from all nations working in visual art (painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, mixed media, installation), literature, music composition, performance, or film and video. Artists enrolled in a degree program are not eligible, and artists may apply once every other calendar year.
- The Focus: A residency of two weeks to two months at Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, New York, for residencies starting May 2027 through March 2028.
- The Funding: Room, board and studio at no cost, with modest access grants to offset the costs of accepting an invitation; no fixed stipend. $35 application fee.
- Key Requirements: Apply on SlideRoom between November 20 and December 20, 2026 (11:59 PM EST); the portal closes early if 1,600 applications are reached.

Application notesApplications must be submitted via SlideRoom. The initial review is anonymous, so applicants should remove their name from all work samples. The application's weight is on the work sample, which should reflect recent, finished work. Requirements vary by discipline, for example: 7 images for visual art, 20 pages for fiction, or 10 pages for poetry. Letters of reference are not required at this time.
