- Who Can Apply: Anyone from anywhere: artists, curators (trained or student), writers and other creative people, regardless of experience. Teams welcome. Past NYC Open Call winners are not eligible.
- The Focus: Original, idea-driven group exhibitions at apexart's New York space (291 Church St) for the 2027–28 season. Proposals are chosen by an anonymous crowdsourced jury of 600+ people.
- Compensation: $10,000 budget: up to $8,000 for exhibition costs (travel, shipping, artist honorariums, installation) and a $2,000 organizer honorarium. apexart covers insurance, publicity, the brochure and the opening. No fees.
- Key Requirements: One anonymous 500-word English proposal (no links, names or dates) for a group show of at least 3 independent artists, plus a list of three potential artists. Submissions accepted October 1–31, 2026.

Pay$10,000 all-inclusive exhibition budget. Up to $8,000 covers curator travel, artwork shipping, artist and public-program honorariums, assistant fees, equipment, and installation materials and labor. The curator/organizer then receives a $2,000 honorarium after the exhibition closes and all expenses are paid. apexart separately covers approved insurance, advertising/publicity, documentation, brochure design/printing/mailing, and the local opening reception.

Application notesProposals are accepted October 1–31, 2026 through the online form at https://apexart.org/nyc/submit.php, which goes live October 1. Submit one 500-word proposal in English for an original, idea-driven group exhibition at apexart, 291 Church St, NYC, with works by at least 3 artists working independently (4 if you are also an exhibiting artist). Keep the proposal anonymous: no biographies, CVs, links or your name. Do not include specific dates, artist projects, an open call for artists, or any sales activity. List at least three potential artists; this list is not shown to the jury and can change. The form asks whether AI was used in writing the proposal. More than 600 international jurors vote online in November. NYC exhibitions generally run about 6 weeks. International curators are strongly encouraged to attend installation and the opening.
