apexart International Open Call
Collectives eligible
- Who Can Apply: Anyone from anywhere: artists, curators, writers and other creative people, regardless of experience. Teams welcome. Past winners of the International Open Call are not eligible for it again.
- The Focus: Original, idea-driven group exhibitions held anywhere in the world except NYC, in a place the submitter knows. Chosen by an anonymous crowdsourced jury of 600+ people.
- Compensation: $10,000 budget: up to $8,000 for exhibition costs and a $2,000 organizer honorarium, plus up to a $1,000 venue-rental match. No fees.
- Key Requirements: One anonymous 500-word English proposal (no links or names) for a group show of at least 3 independent artists, plus a list of three potential artists. Next submission window: February 1 – March 1, 2027.

Application notesCurrently closed. The next proposal period is February 1 – March 1, 2027, for apexart's 2027–28 international season. The online form at https://apexart.org/intl/submit.php opens when the period starts. Submit one 500-word proposal in English for an original, idea-driven group exhibition anywhere outside NYC, in a city or town you have lived in or visited. Keep the proposal anonymous: no links, names or extra materials. List at least three potential artists; this list is not shown to the jury and can change. The venue cannot be commercial and is found with apexart after selection. Exhibitions should be on view for at least 4 weeks. Jury voting takes place in March. Questions: opencalls@apexart.org.
