  • Who Can Apply: Visual artists residing in Quebec, elsewhere in Canada or abroad with at least five years of professional experience; duos are eligible
  • The Focus: Research-creation projects in professionally recognized visual-arts practices that engage with environmental issues and the Foundation's mission; projects inspired by the site are encouraged but not required
  • The Funding: CAD 5,000 grant for the four-week phase-1 residency; up to CAD 5,000 additional support may be granted for an optional second phase; travel allowance up to CAD 1,000 for residents living more than 500 km away
  • Key Requirements: One PDF submitted by WeTransfer to projets@fondationgrantham.org containing a contact page, artist statement (1 page), project concept and preferred schedule (1 page), expected results (1 page), CV (3 pages), portfolio of 10 images or 5 web links with captions and credits, and press review (5 pages maximum)

Application notesThe 2027 residency-cycle call opened March 5, 2026 and closed May 27, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Applications were submitted as one PDF (maximum 1 GB) by WeTransfer to projets@fondationgrantham.org. The winner is announced September 12, 2026. Available residency months are January, February, July and August 2027, with exact dates agreed with residents. Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by video. International residents are responsible for entry and immigration procedures, and resulting work must acknowledge the Foundation's support.
