Joy Engine 2027 Joy Grant (Community Challenge)

- Who Can Apply: Artists working in visual, performing arts or creative placemaking; students and student organizations (under 18 must partner with a lead organizer or school); government entities, neighborhood associations or improvement districts, schools, cultural centers, community organizations, and 501(c)(3)/(4)/(6) nonprofits; other artists/organizations considered case-by-case. Projects must take place in the Milwaukee neighborhood where you live or work and be publicly accessible without admission fees.
- The Focus: Community-centered arts projects that create joy in City of Milwaukee neighborhoods, including permanent physical improvements, temporary installations/performances, and new programming or events.
- The Funding: Up to $10,000 per grant from a total pool of up to $50,000.
- Key Requirements: Complete and submit the online application form by the deadline.

Application notesIf chosen, your project must be completed by December 31, 2027. Murals are not considered on their own but may be included in a broader community-centered initiative. Not eligible for funding: partisan, political or election-related activities; planning activities; publication of books or reports; acquisition of land, buildings or vehicles; sponsorship of other organizations' events; routine maintenance, repairs, or ongoing operational needs.
