Individual Support Grant
- Who Can Apply: Individual painters, sculptors, and printmakers with at least 20 years of mature artistic practice and demonstrated current financial need; applicants who have received this grant three or more times are ineligible.
- The Focus: Recognizing and supporting serious, fully committed artists who have dedicated their lives to developing their art, regardless of commercial success.
- The Funding: 20 grants are awarded annually; the most recent grants were $25,000 each. The 2027 amount has not yet been separately confirmed.
- Key Requirements: Financial disclosure and supporting household financial documents; 6 JPG images from the last 12 months; 20–34 JPG images spanning at least 20 years, beginning in 2007 or earlier for the 2027 cycle; files no larger than 2 MB.

Application notesThe 2027 application opens October 15, 2026. Applicants submit 6 JPG images from the last 12 months plus 20–34 JPG images spanning at least 20 years; files may be no larger than 2 MB each. For the 2027 cycle, the historical set must begin in 2007 or earlier. No detail images are permitted in the recent-work set, and up to 5 detail images are allowed in the historical set. Financial documentation is required for all household members; international documents require line-by-line English translations. Sensitive identifiers should be redacted. The foundation does not fund organizations, educational institutions, students, graphic artists, crafts, exhibitions, installations, or specific projects. Photography, film, and video are ineligible unless the work directly involves or can be interpreted as painting or sculpture. Applicants who have received this grant three or more times are ineligible.
