Who Can Apply: Creative individuals proposing free arts, science or history programming for Culture Blocks communities in Mecklenburg County; organizations use a separate application
The Focus: Resident-responsive cultural experiences in historically underserved Mecklenburg County neighborhoods, delivered through libraries, recreation centers, parks and other community spaces
The Funding: Up to $20,000 per application; awards may be partially funded, and the required budget applies a 15% administrative fee
Key Requirements: Submit one application per cycle through Blackbaud with the official Creative Individuals budget, program description and dates; programming must be free, serve Culture Blocks communities and take place January 1–June 30, 2027

Application notesApplications opened July 13, 2026 and close August 17, 2026 at noon ET. Applicants may submit only one application per cycle and must use the official Creative Individuals budget template. Programming must take place January 1–June 30, 2027 in Culture Blocks communities and be free to participants. Apply through Blackbaud.
