Application notesApplications are submitted online via a portal on the MAK Vienna website (mak.at), not the MAK Center's LA site. The next call will be announced in Summer 2026 for the 2027/2028 residency terms. Required application materials include a completed data form, a portfolio of works (maximum 10 pages), a detailed project proposal outlining the intended work in Los Angeles (maximum 2 pages), a curriculum vitae, and proof of Austrian citizenship or permanent residency for at least five years. The program is open to individuals and teams of up to three people. An independent jury selects recipients based on the quality of their past work and the conceptual strength and relevance of their project proposal.
