- Who Can Apply: Open to international and Japan-based artists, creatives, researchers, writers, educators, musicians, dancers, and other practitioners.
- The Focus: This residency supports context-responsive creation through engagement with the local community and environment in Fujino, Japan. Residents can develop new or existing work, culminating in an Open Studio event.
- The Funding: The 4-week residency has a fee of ¥280,000 (approx. €1,500), including a non-refundable ¥50,000 deposit on confirmation, and covers housing, studio space, and organizational support.
- Key Requirements: Applicants must submit a project proposal via the online application form.

Application notesApplications for the 2027 autumn/winter sessions (September 29 – October 27 and November 10 – December 8) are reviewed as they come in, through March 2027; the end date is flexible. Applications for the 2027 spring/summer sessions closed on September 30, 2026. Apply through the Google Form, in English or Japanese; only selected applicants are contacted. Selection is based on the project's resonance with the Fujino setting and the organization's capacity to support the proposal. The residency culminates in an Open Studio event. The program runs five 4-week sessions a year.
