  • Who Can Apply: Finnish citizens can apply (work in Finland or abroad). Non-Finnish citizens only if affiliated with a Finnish institution, based in Finland, or the work is carried out in Finland.
  • The Focus: Supports bold, long-term projects in all fields of art, humanities, social sciences, and environmental sciences. The foundation values academic and artistic freedom, a plurality of voices, and crossing disciplinary borders.
  • The Funding: Funding includes personal monthly grants from €2,700 to €3,600, plus project-specific expenses, with no application fee.

Application notesApplications are submitted via the online grant service. Required attachments for individual artists include a work proposal (max 4 pages), a CV (max 4 pages), and a portfolio. A budget is required if applying for expenses beyond the personal monthly grant. The application form allows applicants to select the field of the expert who will review their application, with options including Visual Arts, Art Curating, Arts Criticism, and Media and Sound Art. Applications can be submitted in Finnish, Swedish, or English.
