  • Who Can Apply: Open to creative professionals and researchers across disciplines—including visual artists, writers, musicians, dancers, and others—at any career stage.
  • The Focus: A studio-based creative residency in a remote Alaskan wilderness setting, with woodworking, printmaking, digital-photography, recording, library, and outdoor facilities.
  • The Funding: Fellowship: fully funded for six weeks, including lodging, meals, the charter flight from Anchorage, and a $500 travel stipend. Resident Artist option: $950–$1,900 per week. Application fee: $35.
  • Key Requirements: Apply through SlideRoom with work samples, an artist statement, and the application form. Fellowship applicants must commit to the full six-week session and participate in shared lodge responsibilities.

Application notesLocation is remote wilderness in Alaska, 180 miles from nearest road, accessible only by fly-in (small bush plane landing on dirt runway, often bumpy boat ride required). Pathways are gravel or dirt trails. Cabins and yurts have stairs at doorways; some facilities located uphill. Artists with limited mobility will have difficulty navigating the property. Pre-orientation materials and communication before arrival to discuss accommodations and health needs. Orientation upon arrival. Pets (non-service animals) allowed. Collaborative applications accepted (teams may apply together). Additional expectations: donate a work of art, participate in open studio with fellow residents, give artist talk or presentation.
