Amarte Fonds Visual Arts Project Grant (Projectbijdrage)
- Who Can Apply: Visual artists and independent curators based in the Netherlands or on the ABC and SSS islands (Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands), or with a lasting, demonstrable professional relationship with the Dutch or Caribbean-Dutch cultural sector; open to makers developing a professional artistic practice, including those coming from another field
- The Focus: Realising new work with a concrete plan that contributes to your development as an artist; Amarte prefers to come in early in the making process
- The Funding: The artist receives a project contribution of up to €5,500 (fee and materials), plus optional extra support from an Amarte expert
- Key Requirements: Register on the Amarte application portal (aanvragenamarte.nl), start a new application using the form 'Amarte (theater, film, muziek, beeldende kunst)', complete the budget tool (costs equal income, excl. VAT) and upload a project plan (max. 1 A4, font size 11: what, why, how, what it adds to your practice short and long term, why this medium) and a portfolio of max. 20 pages (max. 50 MB). Rolling: the advisory committee meets monthly and aims to send a decision within 7 weeks; budget the whole project

Application notesRolling applications via aanvragenamarte.nl: register with your email address, start a new application and choose the form 'Amarte (theater, film, muziek, beeldende kunst)'. Required attachments: project plan (max. 1 A4, font size 11) and portfolio (max. 20 pages, max. 50 MB); a CV or Chamber of Commerce extract may be added. Use the budget tool (costs must equal income, excl. VAT). Only one application can be open at a time, and you cannot apply for a development and a project contribution for the same project at once. Assessed on enthusiasm, authenticity, talent development and a well-thought-out plan; the committee meets monthly and aims to decide within 7 weeks. Extra support from an Amarte expert is available on top of the money.
