War Stories: Collage & Conflict Virtual Artist Residency
- Who Can Apply: Collage artists at any career stage, age 21 and over, from anywhere in the world; those working in social and political collage or interested in exploring it are especially welcome.
- The Focus: Creating collage artwork responding to historical and contemporary war correspondence; exploring political collage history and practice; developing artist statements and critical thinking about art's role in civic discourse.
- Cost: $600 USD participation fee; limited grants available to offset cost for those in need.
- Key Requirements: Submit application through the call form; attend all four scheduled Saturday sessions (October 3, 10, 17, 24, 1-3PM EDT); complete weekly assignments; create original collages responding to war correspondence; develop artist statements; participate in WhatsApp group chat and critical feedback sessions.

Application notesArtists are expected to attend all four scheduled sessions and complete assignments. Any original collages made during the residency remain the property of individual artists with all rights retained. By submitting work for the War & Peace Correspondence Project, artists grant Kolaj Institute, Kolaj Magazine, Maison Kasini, and Wissenschaft & Frieden permission to publish images online, in magazines, in book form, in a folio, and in project promotion.
