Application notesApplicants must commit to 14 or 21 public open studio hours per week on Thursdays, Fridays, and/or Saturdays (10:30 am–5:30 pm) and/or Wednesdays (11:00 am–7:00 pm). Schedule established in conjunction with Education Department and remains set throughout residency. Residents welcome K-12 school groups and public tour groups during open studio hours. Applicants strongly encouraged to visit Artist Studios in person before applying. Application fee of $5 may be waived upon request for financial hardship. Alumni are not eligible to reapply. Residents are independent contractors responsible for local, state, and federal taxes on stipend. All selected artists must complete background check. Residents may display work-in-progress in studio and finished work in 6th-floor vitrines but program does not include exhibition in Museum galleries.
