AHCMC Artist Roster for Wall Projects (Montgomery County, MD) — Arts and Humanities Council of Montgomery County
  • Who Can Apply: Local artists residing in the Greater Washington area who work in murals, mosaic, tile, low-relief or other installation media suitable for temporary or permanent installation on exterior walls. Montgomery County-based ALAANA artists are encouraged to apply.
  • The Focus: A prequalified roster that connects artists to future exterior wall-art commissions in Montgomery County, Maryland; artists stay on the Roster for three years.
  • Compensation: No payment for joining and no budgets are stated; commissions are arranged project by project and inclusion in the Roster does not guarantee a commission.
  • Key Requirements: Email (or send by Dropbox/WeTransfer) the completed application form, a CV or resume (up to 2 pages per artist, Word or PDF), a current artist statement, short narrative responses to three questions (interest in public art, exterior wall-art experience, approach to community input), references from two or more recent clients, up to 10 JPEG images of completed work (no more than 300 dpi and no larger than 1024 x 768 pixels) and an annotated image list including budget and description.

Application notesApply by email: send the completed application form and materials by email, Dropbox or WeTransfer to wallartistroster@creativemoco.com; AHCMC acknowledges every submission. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and artists remain on the Roster for three years. The application form is dated Spring 2020 but is the form currently linked from the official page. JPEG files must be named with the artist's name and a number matching the image list (e.g. JonesJane001). Questions about preparing an application go to the same address.
