Application notesApply online only through Submittable (form "2027 Fellowship Awards", artisttrust.submittable.com/submit/368318/2027-fellowship-awards); physical work, emailed files and late applications are not accepted. One application covers every Fellowship Award. Submit: (1) Discipline statement, 50 words or less, plus a disciplinary category; (2) Biography, 150 words or less, or up to 1.5 minutes of video/audio; (3) Artist statement, 350 words or less, or up to 3 minutes of video/audio; (4) Work samples: no more than 10 in total, where one sample = one image, one manuscript page, or one minute of audio or video; work should have been created within the past 10 years; (5) Artist resume, 5 pages or less, as a PDF with no images or links; (6) Impact statement, 150 words or less. Images: .gif or .jpeg, one piece per file (no collages, do not compile into a PDF), recommended at least 1920 px on the longest side at 72 ppi. Video: .mp4, .avi, .m4v, .mpg or .wmv, one file per work, no reels or slideshows of stills. Audio: .aiff, .mp3 or .wav. Manuscripts: one PDF, double-spaced, 12-point or larger, maximum 10 pages plus one optional synopsis page. File limits: 400 MB per file and 800 MB per application. Links to third-party sites (YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive) are not accepted anywhere in the application. Add a description to each sample (title, materials, dimensions or time or pages, year, and your role). Failure to meet the work sample guidelines makes the application ineligible. A video biography or statement must be an unedited, single clear shot of the applicant and must not show artwork. Named awards: opt in within the same application for the Fellowship Award for Black Artists, the Greg Kucera and Larry Yocom Fellowship Award (visual artists; the guidelines say opt in, while the Submittable form description says eligible visual artists are considered automatically, so tick the option if the form offers it) and the Lillian Miller Foundation Fellowship Award for Trans* and Indigiqueer Artists; for the Vadon Foundation Fellowship Award for Native Artists also provide documentation of tribal enrollment, or of descendancy, issued by a federally or state recognized tribe, band, nation or Alaska Native Village. Teams must contact Artist Trust to confirm eligibility before applying; one member submits and lists the team. Translation or accessibility requests should be made by October 14. Notification is in March 2027.
