  • Who Can Apply: Professional visual artists with an autonomous practice who live and work in Rotterdam and are registered with Art Office. Master's students are excluded; eligible artist duos each submit an individual application.
  • The Focus: A defined work period investigating an artistic question or developing the artist's practice, with emphasis on research and process. The project must not start before the application round closes.
  • The Funding: Up to €7,500 for the artist's time only, guided by €2,500 per full-time month; duos share this cap. Paid 70% initially and 30% after approved reporting, against invoices; production costs are excluded.
  • Key Requirements: Update your Art Office profile and apply through your account with a summary (200 words/1,250 characters), timeline (300 words), project description (600 words/3,600 characters), one main image and 3–5 supporting images (2 MB each), requested honorarium, total budget and co-financing.

Application notesApply through the Art Office account. Complete contact details, project title, summary (maximum 200 words/1,250 characters), start/end dates, timeline (maximum 300 words; Dutch sample says 1,800 characters, English sample 1,600), and project description (maximum 600 words/3,600 characters). Upload one main image and 3–5 supporting images, each maximum 2 MB, in png, jpg, svg, pdf, gif or jpeg; video/site links may be included in a PDF. Enter requested honorarium, total project budget and co-financing (€0 allowed), and upload evidence of other applications for the same project if applicable, maximum 2 MB per file in the same formats. Confirm the profile is complete and accept the regulations. Dutch is preferred; regulations and FAQ allow English.
