  • Who Can Apply: Open to individuals and teams who live or work in North Carolina; must be legally authorized to work in the U.S., at least 18, with at least three years of professional practice and demonstrated design experience. Lead applicant cannot be enrolled in an undergraduate visual arts course as of January 1, 2026.
  • The Focus: Durable public art on tunnel entrances or wing walls along the Raleigh Greenway using ceramic/mosaic, fabricated metalwork, or similar long-lasting materials.
  • Compensation: Three selected artists/teams each receive a $30,000 all-inclusive project budget (design, fabrication, taxes, travel, fees); six semi-finalists receive a proposal honorarium ($250 per summary / $200 per selection criteria).
  • Key Requirements: Statement of interest (300 words or 2-minute audio/video), one-page biography, three professional references, and eight digital images of recent work from the past ten years with image details.

PayUSD 30,000 per project, all-inclusive of design, fabrication, taxes, travel and fees. Finalist proposal stipends are separate and stated inconsistently as USD 250 (summary/web page) and USD 200 (selection section).
