- Who Can Apply: Individuals, sole traders, partnerships and eligible community organisations operating in or significantly benefiting the City of Sydney area; applicant residence in Sydney is not required.
- The Focus: Urgent needs of priority communities, including community, cultural and sustainability projects.
- The Funding: Up to AUD 5,000; indoor venue support for organisations only.
- Key Requirements: SmartyGrants form, activity timeline and balanced budget; supporting letters, quotes and conditional documents as applicable.

Application notesApply through SmartyGrants. Provide applicant/entity details, project name (10 words maximum), summary (30 words), start/end dates, main location, beneficiaries and participant count. Explain the project (350 words), urgency (150), funding-priority contribution (150), inclusion/community benefit (100), and applicant/key-person experience (150). Enter balanced cash and in-kind income/expense tables excluding GST and an activity timeline. Supporting letters and quotes can be attached; there is no prescribed letter count. Upload an auspice agreement letter if auspiced, and organisation constitution/rules if applicable. For child-related work, provide a safety explanation (100 words) and policy/procedures; sole traders without these safeguards need an auspice. Uploads may be up to 25 MB each. Organisational venue requests require booking details and quotes. Complete declarations. Accessible alternative formats are available through grants@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au.
