Nixon Road Roundabout Public Art (City of Ann Arbor)
- Who Can Apply: Artists, designers, or artist teams residing in the United States who can commit to working in Ann Arbor as necessary.
- The Focus: Permanent, site-specific public artwork along the Nixon Road corridor: a single artwork or a cohesive series across three roundabouts and adjacent sidewalk/bus-stop areas; primarily three-dimensional, durable and low-maintenance.
- Compensation: A $75,000 all-inclusive commission budget (design fee, engineering, permits, insurance, materials, fabrication, installation, travel, contingency); up to five semifinalists each receive a separate $750 proposal stipend.
- Key Requirements: Submit online via CaFÉ by October 23, 2026: letter of interest (2000 character max), resume (each individual resume max two pages; one per team member), ten images of past work, artist bio (1500 character max), and three professional references.

Application notesNo application fee. Apply online via CaFÉ by October 23, 2026, 11:59 pm PDT. Selection has two stages; up to five semifinalists get six weeks to develop proposals (renderings, preliminary budget, timeline) and must submit a completed W-9 to receive the $750 stipend. The selected artist contracts with the City of Ann Arbor, must obtain stamped structural drawings from a Michigan-licensed engineer and the necessary permits, and must carry general liability insurance listing the City of Ann Arbor, Wade Trim and the Ann Arbor Art Center as additional insured. The call is managed by the Ann Arbor Art Center's Art in Public program.
