Cook County Health Community Murals Project (CMP)
- Who Can Apply: Professional visual artists or artist teams working in any media who are at least 18 and legally authorized to work in Cook County; experience with large-scale murals and community engagement is expected.
- The Focus: Lead artist role designing and creating a health-themed interior mural at Stroger Hospital in Chicago through a participatory process with Cook County Health patients, staff, and community members.
- Compensation: $6,000 artist fee (paid half upfront, half on completion); HFCC separately covers art supplies, workshop materials, and installation equipment.
- Key Requirements: Email an artist's statement of no more than 350 words, a résumé, and work samples of previous work (documents, photos, plans, and up to 15 minutes of video in total) to info@cchealthfoundation.org; reviews, news articles, and web links may be included as support material.

Application notesApplications are by email only: send the proposal to info@cchealthfoundation.org. Submit an artist's statement of no more than 350 words, a résumé, and work samples (documents, photos, plans, and video up to 15 minutes total); reviews, news articles, and web links may be added. Mural size will not exceed 500 square feet. Late applications may be disqualified from consideration. Application review takes place November 2–13, 2026; finalist interviews are held November 16–25, 2026; selected artists are notified by December 4, 2026. Selected artists attend a virtual training and onboarding, and designs are final only after approval by the site's CEO and executive leaders (maximum two rounds of revisions). The web page gives the project period as January 1 – May 31, 2027, while the RFP PDF says September 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027.
