  • Who Can Apply: Contemporary visual artists and artist collectives, 21 years or older, residing in Tennessee with proof of TN residency
  • The Focus: Independent, innovative, public-facing visual art projects (2-D, 3-D, 4-D or combination) that engage audiences and expand contemporary art dialogue in Tennessee
  • The Funding: $7,500 per grant ($60,000 total for 8 awards); funds support project expenses including materials, fabrication, labor, documentation, transportation, and advertising
  • Key Requirements: Project title and artist/collective bio; short (≤200 words) and full (≤1000 words) project descriptions including audience and timeline; website links; budget using provided template; up to 10 files (max 2mb each, max 2 min video); proof of TN residency

Application notesApplication via Submittable (free account required; supports Google/Facebook login). Alternative submission by email to info@tristararts.org or mail to 4450 Candora Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37920. Application available in other languages upon request. Q&A sessions held in Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis, and virtual. Projects must be new (not in progress or completed); cannot be reimbursement for finished work. Artist collectives must designate one individual as point person for communications and funding. Prior grantees may reapply after a gap year. Curators not eligible.
