Gemeente Den Haag Development Subsidy for Makers
- Who Can Apply: Individual professional makers in comics, literature, design, fashion, games, visual arts, music, theater, film, dance, or interdisciplinary practice who live and work in The Hague.
- The Focus: A personal development plan with activities that strengthen your practice as a maker.
- The Funding: Up to €9,000 with a cultural organization or 3+ collaborating freelancers; up to €4,500 otherwise. Total budget €145,000.
- Key Requirements: Online form via the subsidy portal with DigiD; bank statement copy, BSN, 1-page budget, CV (max 2 A4 pages), ID copy, learning goals and planning; if collaborating with an organization, a signed plan of action (max 1,200 words).

Application notesApplications are submitted through the online subsidy portal using DigiD; documents should be sent as Word or PDF files. Applications are processed in order of receipt. If complete and compliant, you are invited to an online explanation interview in May (Mondays & Thursdays 9:30–12:00, Tuesdays & Wednesdays 13:30–16:00). You are told whether the subsidy is granted within 3 weeks after the online interview. Activities must take place within the Haaglanden or Leiden culture regions, and collaborating organizations/freelancers must come from those regions.
