Application notesPets not allowed (exception: service animals trained to aid individuals with disability; support animals not accommodated). Overnight guests/visitors not allowed without prior approval. Collaborating artists must each submit separate applications; if selected, they share housing and studio. Childcare stipend ($1,000 to one selected parent-artist) available to all parent-artist applicants (artists, writers, composers) for any residency time slot. Offsite residency option available in situations where full onsite support cannot be provided; offsite residencies are two weeks in length with varying accommodations. Accessibility contact: Bill Klco, bill@goodhartartistresidency.org. First floor of residence and studio are accessible; second-story loft accessible only via stairway. Caregiver/aide/PCA housing available on campus. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher, and halal meal options can be requested; food allergies and restrictions accommodated. Residents may request pickup/drop-off service from Pellston Regional Airport (35 min) or Cherry Capital Airport in Traverse City (2 hr). Transportation to community events and occasional trips into town available upon request. Bike available in warmer months. No television at residence. Cell service may be undependable; WiFi calling available. Laundry detergent provided. Residents informed at start of stay of any scheduled community events (Open Studio Saturdays for visual artists, occasional local meetings such as book clubs). Community engagement requirement: each artist collaborates with a local nonprofit to lead an educational event, workshop, or exhibition during residency. Some time slots reserved for specific partnerships (see partners page). Selection by jury panel with expertise in respective discipline (visual art, writing, music).
