  • Who Can Apply: Emerging professional freelance artists whose main artistic activity is in Hamburg, across visual arts, performance, music, literature, film and photography. There is no age limit or Hamburg residence requirement; amateur and university student projects are excluded.
  • The Focus: New contemporary art and culture projects with experimental approaches, developed and presented in Hamburg. For this round, the first public exhibition, performance or event must be on or after 15 June 2027.
  • The Funding: Up to €15,000 for project development and presentation costs. No own funds are required, though co-funding is encouraged; ongoing rent, operating costs and renovations are excluded.
  • Key Requirements: Apply online in German or English with a summary of up to 2,500 characters including spaces and one PDF: proposal, audience, dates/venue, participants’ short CVs, itemised budget and work samples or links. Limit the PDF to 15 pages and 5 MB to meet both published size limits.

Application notesApply online in German or English. Give personal/contact details, project title, discipline, dates, venue, participants, a summary of up to 2,500 characters including spaces, and financing figures. Attach one PDF of no more than 15 pages containing the detailed artistic proposal, target audience, dates/place, participants with short CVs, itemised income/expenses/requested grant, confirmed versus pending funding, and previous work samples or website/video/audio links. The current page states 10 MB; its linked preview states 5 MB, so keep the PDF within 5 MB to satisfy both.
