Lawndale Art Center Exhibition Open Call
- Who Can Apply: Open to artists and curators, with an emphasis on practices based in Houston and the Gulf Coast Region; exhibitions must not have been previously shown in Houston.
- The Focus: Proposals for contemporary art exhibitions in visual arts, performing arts, or writing, presented in Lawndale's indoor galleries or outdoor sculpture garden.
- The Funding: Honoraria range from $190 to $1,250 per artist or curator depending on exhibition size, plus additional budget support for shipping, materials, design, and public programs.
- Key Requirements: Email submission including a one-page about document (short artist bios, project description with contemporary relevance, desired gallery space and reason), two references with contact information, and 5-10 work samples with artwork descriptions (title, year, media, dimensions).

Stipend$1,250 per artist or curator (solo exhibition); $625 per artist or curator (two-person exhibition); $315 per artist or curator (group of 3-5 artists); $190 per artist or curator (group of 6+ artists); $500 for performance of existing work (divided equally among participating artists/performers); $1,000 for performance commission of new work (divided equally among participating artists/performers).
