Lighton International Artists Exchange Program (LIAEP) Grant
- Who Can Apply: Serious, dedicated visual artists and occasional individual performance and dance artists; U.S. citizens traveling abroad or foreign artists traveling to the U.S.; individual applicants only (no student travel or performance groups).
- The Focus: International travel and residencies for artistic exchange between peers, with priority for travel to less Westernized countries and artists who have not yet worked abroad.
- The Funding: Grants up to $7,000 USD per applicant to cover airfare, transportation, meals, artist supplies, residency costs, and living expenses.
- Key Requirements: Online application with contact information, artistic discipline, project proposal including travel information and budget, artist statement, CV or resume, host organization invitation letter, two recommendation letters, at least 8 work samples (file size at least 1 MB), and an image list with title, medium, dimensions, and year.

Application notesOnline applications via Submittable open November 1, 2026 and close January 15, 2027; only complete applications, including the host invitation letter and two recommendation letters, are reviewed. Award notifications are sent in March 2027; travel and residency must occur between March 2027 and February 2028. Final reporting is due within 60 days of the conclusion of travel. Visas, permits, and destination-country documents are the applicant's responsibility; LIAEP bears no responsibility for grant recipients while abroad.
