No design/finalist fee.

Application notesIncomplete packets or poor-quality graphics are disqualified. Deliver the complete application packet (checklist, application form, Artist Budget Estimate) and a true-to-color rendering no smaller than 11" x 17" mounted on poster board/cardboard in person to Norma Gerardo, Recreation Manager, Calexico Recreation Department, 707 Dool Avenue, Calexico, CA 92231, by 5:00 p.m. on October 26, 2026. Photos of previous murals are highly encouraged. Selected artists must provide a signed Artist Agreement, City of Calexico Business License and Vendor Number, a Temporary Use Permit, $2M per occurrence liability insurance naming the City as additional insured, and Artist/Assistant Waiver of Liability/Hold Harmless agreements. AI-generated graphics, stock photos/graphics and copyrighted materials are prohibited; murals are 'Work Made for Hire' with shared intellectual property. Notification on or about December 17, 2026; completion by April 30, 2027. Note: the guidelines label Nosotros Park West/East inconsistently between the site list and the stipend table; confirm the site-stipend pairing with the City.
