- Who Can Apply: Open to solo artists or artist groups authorized to work in the United States
- The Focus: Design and installation of a large indoor mural celebrating NewBo City Market's community history in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
- Compensation: Up to $25,000 all-inclusive project stipend (artist fee, travel, lodging, materials, rentals); each finalist receives $250 to prepare a design proposal
- Key Requirements: Portfolio of past work (online link and/or up to 10 files: pdf, ppt, pptx, jpg, jpeg), 2–3 paragraph artist statement, artist/group name, email, phone, agreement to the project timeline, and confirmation of U.S. work authorization

Application notesThe portfolio stage is for past work only, not a new design proposal for this project. The wall includes two speakers, two glass garage walls, and sits in front of a stage; durable materials are required and negative space is welcome. The Market stays open during business hours while the artist's space is roped off. Finalist design proposals are due November 23, 2026, and the final selection is announced in early December 2026.
