  • Who Can Apply: Artists and writers born between January 1992 and December 2011 who originate from an Arab country, regardless of ethnicity or citizenship, whether living in the Arab region or abroad; the lead creator must apply.
  • The Focus: Production grants for new projects in Literature, Visual Arts, Music & Sound Art, Performing Arts, and Cinema (up to 5 projects per discipline).
  • The Funding: Up to €8,500 (performing arts, visual arts, music & sound art), €6,500 (literature), €13,000 (cinema); paid 70% on signing and 30% after final reports.
  • Key Requirements: Arabic-language online application at apply.mawred.org with artistic background, short and long project description, statement/treatment as required by discipline, timeline, detailed budget, amount requested in euros, financial plan, detailed CV, ID/passport copy, and previous works; attachments PDF, JPEG, or PNG (max 2 MB each, or links). Grantees must furnish two guarantors when signing the agreement.

Application notesApplications must be completed entirely in Arabic apart from fields that require English; uploaded documents must be PDF, JPEG, or PNG. Incomplete applications or those lacking required attachments are disregarded. Applicants may not apply for support for more than one project in the same round. The program does not cover reproduction of a previously produced or presented project, and excludes websites, workshops, support for entities or organizations, academic and art research-centered projects, and TV series. Applicants under 18 must include a birth certificate copy, a letter of approval signed by a parent or guardian, and a copy of that parent/guardian's ID/passport. Applications are assessed by an independent three-member jury per discipline based on quality and relevance, originality, practicability of the budget, and feasibility of completion by deadline.
