- Who Can Apply: Artists aged 25 and older at any career stage; open to visual, literary, multimedia, and performance artists worldwide
- The Focus: Month-long residency providing dedicated time and space for artists to focus on their creative work and processes
- The Funding: $100 per week living stipend; $300 travel stipend; housing, studio, and facilities provided; no residency fees
- Key Requirements: Online application form (completed in one session); professional biography (max 250 words); art proposal (max 100 words); two housing references (recent landlords or neighbors); two professional references; availability calendar selection; supplementary materials submitted to info@surelsplace.org by deadline (portfolio/work samples, CV, artist statement, full proposal, workshop description if applicable)

Application notesNon-smoking requirement is strict and mandatory. Partners may join residents but must apply and be accepted separately for concurrent residencies. Children and pets are not permitted. Residents must dedicate themselves fully to art-making; outside work/telecommuting not allowed. Scheduling flexibility increases likelihood of acceptance. Partner School Program participation available with additional stipend ($100/week base + additional stipend for outreach). Application must be completed in one session online; all supplementary materials must be submitted to info@surelsplace.org by midnight MST on deadline. Late applications held for next cycle. Playwrights and screenwriters not reviewed in this cycle; next considered after March 1, 2027 deadline.
