- Who Can Apply: Individual artists living in Philadelphia, and artist-run spaces & collectives whose lead applicant lives in Philadelphia. Not eligible: 501(c)(3) nonprofits, for-profit businesses, artists outside Philadelphia, previous-year Velocity Fund grantees, and senior staff at Asian Arts Initiative.
- The Focus: Project grants for visual arts projects that reach a public outcome in Philadelphia between February 2027 and February 2028.
- The Funding: A $5,000 project grant; 80% paid in early February 2027 and 20% after the Midterm Check-In.
- Key Requirements: Lead applicant details, brief biographies of lead applicant and collaborators, audience description, visual arts description, written or video project proposal, project timeline, completed budget form, and 5–10 work samples (video/audio links total no more than 8 minutes).

Application notesSubmit via Submittable; the lead applicant and any invited collaborators each need a Submittable account. Upload 5–10 images/documents and/or link web-hosted video/audio (Vimeo/YouTube); video/audio must total no more than 8 minutes. If venues are not secured, describe the type of space imagined. Lead applicants may submit one proposal per cycle and may still be listed as a collaborator on others. If awarded, the Lead Applicant need not be a US citizen but must have an ITIN to receive payment. Grantees notified early February 2027.
