  • The Focus: Creation/development or presentation of arts projects in Toronto.
  • The Funding: CAD 10,000–20,000 category caps including optional mentorship; separate accessibility assistance.
  • Key Requirements: TAC Grants Online application, artist statement, project plan, contributor bios, balanced budget and relevant support material. The 2026 intake is closed.

Application notesRegister as an Individual in TAC Grants Online and choose Black Arts Projects when available. Prepare an artistic statement, project description covering goal, phase, work plan and contributors, and bios for all key contributors. Presentation/community-participation projects also require outreach information; presentation projects require access planning. Optional mentorship requires named mentors, their bios, rationale and goals, with a mentorship work plan optional. Complete the revenue/expense budget. Consult the program manager about necessary audiovisual samples; upload files or external links with passwords as needed, without Google Drive links. Assessors have 5 minutes total for audiovisual support material; written support such as letters and press clippings must be PDF. Numeric statement limits and sample counts are not supplied in the public guidelines. Project start must be at least 4 months after submission and completion within 2 years of notification.
