Application notesApply through Dublin City Arts Office's Submittable portal (a free Submittable account is required) by 12 noon on 15 October 2026. Per the brief, submit: (1) a short proposal broadly outlining your idea or starting point for an accessible, engaging visual arts exhibition for children in Ballyfermot Library; (2) a brief history of your work; and (3) the principles of your practice to date. The brief gives no word limits or image counts; check the Submittable form for upload fields. Proposals should respond to a general theme of nature and the natural world, target an age group under 12, take account of the library setting and Ballyfermot, include a way for children to experience your process (e.g. studio visit or field trip), allow an audio/video interview of the artist by children, and contribute to the education programme. Assessment: quality visual arts experience for children 30%; understanding of the library context 20%; awareness of the target age group and input on the engagement programme 30%; ability to structure R&D, delivery timeline and feasibility 20%. A maximum of five proposals are shortlisted; shortlisted artists meet the Arts Office, Dublin City Libraries, The Ark and IMMA on Thursday 29 October 2026. Award notification the week beginning 2 November 2026; exhibition opens April 2027 (final dates tbc). Enquiries: Estibaliz Errazquin, engagement@ark.ie, or Mark Maguire (IMMA), mark.maguire@imma.ie.
