Housing: Private accommodation (tiny house studios with private bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and desk with mountain views; or shared upstairs bedroom in El Galpón with private bathroom cabinet and balcony)
  • Who Can Apply: Open to emerging and established artists, writers, and creators from all countries and disciplines (visual arts, literature, painting, drawing, photography, video, sculpture, textile art, writing, research, etc.)
  • The Focus: Creative production and artistic research in a nature-based setting; special focus on book projects and art-nature interaction
  • Cost: Residency fee $350/week or $1,300/month (general); $1,600/month (book project); includes housing, workspace, utilities, Wi-Fi, airport pickup, and weekly outings; artists cover travel, visa, food, insurance, and supplies
  • Key Requirements: Application form with project description and portfolio images; WhatsApp video call after selection; $500 non-refundable deposit; copy of plane ticket, passport, and travel insurance one month before stay

Application notesDownload and fill out application form and email to hola@wecheartresidency.ovh, or use online application form. Include brief project description, portfolio images, and relevant information. Selection process includes evaluation of project fit and artist mix for harmonious group dynamics. After selection, selected artists invited to WhatsApp video call to coordinate details. Contract sent to complete reservation. Residency duration can be modulated from 1 week to 2 months. Book Project Residency is a half-guided format with minimum 1-month duration and gradual mentorship focused on completing a personal or art book project from concept to completion (digital or hand-published). General Art Residency is fully self-directed and autonomous. Pets not allowed. No smoking indoors. External guests and parties strictly forbidden. Residents expected to be respectful of shared spaces and other artists' time and practice. Residents prepare their own breakfast and dinner, may organize collectively. All shared spaces should be tidied and cleaned after use. We-Che can provide official documents and letters of invitation for artists applying for grants and scholarships in their home countries. Cannot currently organize public workshops or exhibitions.
