Application notesEnter online through Picter (Start submission) by 11:59pm on 31 January 2027; free. Choose one category: Professional Award (all non-student photographers aged 18+) or Phil Smith Student Award. Submit: a series of 5-10 images in JPEG format that works as one body of work on the theme of human impact; a project title; a short project description explaining what the work is about, why it matters and how it connects to the theme (no word limit stated); your chosen category; and your contact details. Student entrants must also give their course name, institution, a valid school or university email address and a personal email address. Images must be your own original photographs, taken within the past five years, on any camera or phone. AI-generated imagery, stock imagery and images made by someone else are not accepted, and the Picter terms also bar nudity. Wex may ask for a high-resolution or RAW file with metadata to verify authorship. You must hold copyright and have any releases needed from people pictured. Rights: you keep copyright and grant Wex Photo Video a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, publish and display the submitted images to administer and promote the awards (website, social media, email marketing, press, printed promotional materials, exhibition). Winners are contacted by email and must respond within 28 days. No file-size or pixel-dimension limits are published.
