Application notesApply online in the HAF+WRCF Grants Portal (hafoundation.org/apply, which opens the foundation's Foundant portal; choose 'Victor Thomas Jacoby Awards 2026'). Applications are not reviewed anonymously. The form asks for: - Affiliation with HAF+WRCF staff or board (an affiliation may affect eligibility; describe it in up to 500 characters and contact staff first) - Demographics: select the primary demographic that will benefit from your project (required) - Project name (60 characters) and project summary (250 characters) - Primary medium or media (checklist) - Artist history (1,500 characters) - Project medium or media (750 characters) - Project description (1,500 characters) - Exploration: how the project explores new ideas, materials or techniques (1,500 characters) - Project budget: a thorough narrative of how the money will be used, not a full itemized budget (1,500 characters) - Funding impact (1,500 characters) - Artist bio for public announcements, not shown to the committee (1,500 characters) - Agreement to the grant terms Work samples: provide 10 samples; more than 10 may disqualify the application. For each, upload one file (4 MB limit; .jpg, .png, .gif, .pdf or .raw) OR give a URL, plus a description of up to 280 characters and a yes/no answer on whether the sample may be shown in public award announcements (staff use only, not shared with the committee). URLs must point to one specific image or video, not a portfolio or channel. Video across all samples must not exceed 7 minutes in total. All samples must be your own work. If the project is still being planned, sketches or concept designs may be used, but at least 2 of the 10 samples must be current or past work.
