Wellcome Photography Prize
- Who Can Apply: Anyone at any level from anywhere in the world, except people directly involved in organising or judging the prize; under-18s need parent/guardian consent; collaborative works accepted.
- The Focus: Compelling photography and scientific/medical imaging that explores health and science, including discovery research, mental health, infectious disease, and climate and health, across three categories (solo image, storytelling series, scientific and medical imaging).
- The Funding: The winner of each of the three categories receives £10,000; 22 additional entries across the categories receive £1,000 each. Free to enter.
- Key Requirements: Create an account and submit online; images at least 15MB (uncompressed), Adobe RGB (1998), TIFF or high-resolution JPEG preferred; images created after 31 December 2021; Series entries 3–5 images; no identifying watermarks; accurate captions and metadata; no AI-generated images.

Application notesEntrants should gather imagery in a culturally and contextually sensitive way and obtain model release or patient consent where relevant. Read the ethical photography guidelines and the competition terms and conditions before entering. The image maker retains full copyright over their own work.
